Transport Manager at PostNord TPL

At PostNord TPL, you will play a key role where business development, quality, and social benefit meet. As a Transport Manager, you will be responsible for complex transport solutions within a regulated environment. This is the role for you who want to combine strategic responsibility with operational influence while also helping to shape the future distribution network.

PostNord TPL AB is the market-leading third-party logistics provider in Sweden and the Nordic region. We are located in Norrköping, Gothenburg, Helsingborg, Jönköping, and Ljungby in Sweden, Köge in Denmark, as well as Turku, Helsinki, and Lahti in Finland. We offer innovative and cost-effective logistics solutions that span from producer to consumer. Our customers range from small e-commerce companies to large global players. Regardless of the customer's size and conditions, our driving force is to always deliver a logistics solution that increases the customer's competitiveness and enables growth.

Do you want to take on a senior strategic responsibility for some of Sweden's most critical transport flows?

About the role:

As Regional Transport Manager, you will have overall strategic responsibility for developing, optimizing, and future-proofing one of our largest national transport setups. The role is central to our operations and involves driving long-term decisions with a direct impact on cost structure, quality, and customer benefit.

You will work at a senior level with a clear mandate to influence, negotiate, and drive change while ensuring that the transport solutions comply with laws, regulations, and our high standards for sustainability and traceability. The position reports to the Business Development Manager and is based in Norrköping within a matrix organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for designing a transport setup within a national distribution network.
  • Drive strategic procurements, write and negotiate contracts with carriers with a clear focus on cost-effectiveness, quality, risk, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement a long-term development plan for the transport area.
  • Monitor carrier performance and work on continuous improvements.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to develop competitive, cost-effective, and sustainable transport solutions.
  • Be responsible for reporting KPIs, strategic initiatives, improvement work, etc., to the customer.
  • Visit carriers and terminals to ensure quality and develop collaborations.
  • Work in a cross-functional customer team (IT, customer service, production, etc.) to optimize flows and traceability and digitalization.

About you

  • University degree in logistics, strategic purchasing, transport, economics, or equivalent.
  • Several years of documented experience in strategic purchasing and procurement of transport services - including negotiation and contract management.
  • Solid experience from the transport or distribution industry, preferably with regulated and complex flows where quality and traceability are central.
  • Experience in driving business development and improvement initiatives within logistics.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in logistics within the pharmaceutical industry or another regulated sector.

Personal qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you need to have a clear strategic approach and enjoy working long-term with the development and improvement of transport solutions. You have the ability to take a step back and see the big picture while also translating business goals into concrete initiatives that drive the business forward.

You are structured and safety-conscious, with a natural ability to work methodically and follow up on quality and compliance, but also with an eye for what can be streamlined or developed. The role requires you to be analytical, business-minded, solution-oriented, and goal-driven, especially when balancing operational realities with long-term strategies.

We believe you are a person who is secure and stable even under pressure, with a flexible attitude and the ability to handle changing conditions constructively. You communicate clearly and professionally, easily collaborate across functions, and build trust in dialogue with both internal and external stakeholders.

We place great importance on personal suitability.
